about

When you are watching yourself from afar, watching yourself push through the pain and the fear, when you don’t face your trauma and allow yourself to grieve, you become lost. All you know is survival, but what you don’t realize is that with survival comes self-negligence. You unknowingly starve yourself of the space you need in order to heal.

The habits you created to survive will no longer serve you when it's time to thrive.

How do you find space for healing when you don’t know you’re allowed to take up more space in the world? When no one ever told you there was a space for you, that you are allowed to heal and you are allowed to thrive.

What if you were given that permission? What if you had your own map and your own toolkit? With tools you could reach for when you are ready to expand and heal, tools that help you build new habits to thrive.

Nourish your practice of self awareness.

Deepen your understanding of cyclical healing.

Embrace your softness.

Hi,

My name is Mona Mayhue (Cancer sun/ Scorpio moon/ Sagittarius rising). My pronouns are she/her/they/them. I am a queer and disabled mother. I have a big crush on plants and the planets, my cat is my best friend, and my kid is my favorite creature in the universe.

I am a clinical herbalist and holistic health practitioner living on occupied Ohlone land in Oakland, Ca.

My practice with plant medicine stems from a need to find a sustainable way to heal the connection between my body/mind and the earth/stars.

So how did I get here? I was in culinary school full time, working two jobs, and raising my daughter. I was surviving off of anti-anxiety medication, caffeine, cigarettes, and all night alcohol binges. I was constantly ingesting so many substances to keep my energy up, but keep my anxiety down, to numb the depression and the fear, to distract me from the truth I was trying to ignore; I needed help, I needed healing, and I was the only one who could do it.

But survival was all I had known. Generations of women in my family had only known trauma and fear, poverty and sickness. They were never allowed to take up space, to feel themselves fill their lives with wellness, to thrive.

The plants knew. They started reaching out to me and offering me guidance and healing. Yarrow being the first, showed me how to get grounded and create boundaries. Next was Chamomile, who showed me how to embrace my sensitivity and treat it as a super power instead of a fault. Then it was Lemon balm, who showed me that healing emotional trauma is possible with gentle care and persistence.

Now I’m here to introduce you to them. I’m here to guide you. I’m here to introduce you to your plant allies that are waiting to help you. I am offering you a way to widen your perspective of wellness which bring you closer into alignment with your body and mind. This is about giving you the tools you need in order to feel empowered and gain control over your healthcare. You are the healer.
